Dear KFOTT Member,
I am delighted to announce the last of our day trips for 2025, This is an excellent opportunity to visit or re-visit Wakehurst Place in the company of Owen Johnson, to admire its splendid trees and to explore the millennium seedbank.
Members and their guests are welcome to join. We expect to be spending 1.5 – 2 hours with our guide, but visitors are free to spend more time on site and to leave at any time.
Please register your interest with Denise so that we can advise our guide of the group size
Arrangements:
- Travel: members and guests to make their own way to Wakehurst. To minimise traffic, please arrange car-sharing where possible.
- Meeting time: 11.00
- Entrance cost to Wakehurst: free to NT, Kew and Wakehurst members, otherwise payment by attendees on the day directly to Wakehurst Place . Note – car parking charges apply to NT members.
- Guide: Owen Johnson, well-known to many members as speaker at our AGM in the past, who is the recorder for the Tree Register and who has very detailed knowledge of the trees of interest at Wakehurst. Payment of £6 per attendee in advance to KFOTT
- Lunch / refreshments – at the discretion of each attendee and to be paid for individually on the day
